Lucky Bamboo
The Chinese say that Lucky bamboo will bring good fortune and is given as a gift at times of celebration. The plant known as Lucky Bamboo is actually not bamboo at all but a cultivar of the popular houseplant family Dracaena.
Care. Lucky Bamboo is most often sold as pieces in water. Place the shoots in 1 to 3 inches of water to keep the roots covered. Change the water and wash out the container as needed. For best results, use bottled or filtered water. Keep Lucky Bamboo out of direct sunlight. Lucky Bamboo is the perfect choice for the home or office since it requires no natural light. Yellow or brown edges can be a sign of too much light, overcrowding, or the effects of tap water.
